For my card today, I couldn’t resist playing with the gorgeous Impressionistic Flower Stencil. I absolutely love the soft, whimsical feel of this design, and the coordinating die makes it so easy to turn it into a standout focal point.

I started by securing a piece of white cardstock onto my sticky mat and placing the first stencil layer over the top. For ink blending, I used the lightest color from the Trio 13 ink collection, which includes some gorgeous teal shades.

On the second layer of the stencil, I blended in Tropic and then added Aegean for contrast. I repeated these same colors throughout the remaining layers, which created beautiful variation and depth in the flower.

Once the stenciling was complete, I used the coordinating die to cut out the floral image.

For the background, I kept things subtle but added just enough texture to keep it interesting. I die cut a panel using the Crimped A2 Rectangles, then lightly stenciled the Big Basketweave Stencil across the surface. I applied it in a more scattered, organic way so it adds texture without taking away from the focal point.

To give the flower a bit more sturdiness and dimension, I die cut another layer from plain white cardstock and adhered it behind my stenciled piece with liquid glue. This little step really helps the piece feel more substantial. I added the flower to the card front and trimmed off any excess along the edges.

For the sentiment, I used the “with love” die from the set. I cut it once from matte gold cardstock for a soft shine, then layered it twice more with white cardstock to give it a bit of lift. I also added the shadow layer from white, which helps it stand out nicely against the background.

And that finishes up today’s card! I love how soft and airy this one feels, with just a hint of texture and shine.
