For my card today I’m using the ever-adorable Make Some Noise stamp set. This set is filled with little birdies ready to party. I stamped my images in copic friendly ink and colored with copic markers. For some reason, I had chickies in my head which is why they are yellow so I decided to call these little birdies canaries.

After coloring my images with some fun party colors, I cut out with the coordinating die using my Spellbinders Platinum 6 machine.

I added a colorful sky by using a cloud stencil and ink blending on Wilted Violet, Salty Ocean, Twisted Citron, Dried Marigold and Worn Lipstick Distress Oxides inks. Using a Life Changing blender brush makes stenciling on soft clouds a breeze! (see what I did there?)

After adding my clouds, I squished some ink from each color onto my craft mat and spritzed each one with a little water. Then flicked on the color to my background with a paint brush for some added interest. I also added flicks of white metallic ink from Hero Arts.

After my panel was dry and I had figured out where my images would go, I stamped on my sentiment using Versafine Black ink.

I added my images to the card front with liquid adhesive and a couple of the canaries are popped up with foam squares.

Such a super fun birthday set!

The new release will be available in the Your Next Stamp store (CLICK HERE) on 9/12 at 10pm central time.

YNS Challenge #110 – Pastels

Welcome back everyone! I’m excited to be guesting with Your Next Stamp Challenge #110 and it’s to use Pastel colors in your project.

Now if you have been following me you should know this was truly a challenge for me. I love my bright and bold colors but I think I was able to tone it down for the challenge today.

I decided to create a watercolor background for my card. I ink smooshed Worn Lipstick, Mustard Seed and Broken China onto a craft mat. Using a paint brush I applied a wash of water to a piece of Tim Holtz watercolor card stock. Then I picked up some ink and applied it to the background. The more water I add, the lighter my colors will be.

Once I was happy with my background, I smooshed down some Picked Raspberry, picked it up with a wet paint brush and flicked it onto my background. I trimmed my panel down to 4″ x 5 1/4″ and added to an A2 card base made from Sunflower card stock.

My image is from the So Ewe-nique stamp set and was stamped in copic friendly ink. Then I colored my image with copic markers. I used the coordinating die to cut out the image and add to my background. This playful sentiment is stamped from the Egg Hunt stamp set. To finish off the card, I added a few Pretty Pastel Gumdrops.

I hope you enjoyed today’s inspiration for Challenge #110. Be sure to head over to the Your Next Stamp blog and leave a comment there for a chance to win a stamp set of your choice. Comments must be left by March 27 at midnight and a winner will be announced on March 29.

Your Next Stamp Blog Hop

Welcome everyone to the YNS New Release Blog Hop! I’m so thrilled to joining YNS this month and sharing part of the new release! Couple quick details to hash out first before the fun begins. There’s a GIVEAWAY!! Leave a comment for a chance to be entered into the giveaway for a $25 gift certificate to YNS. The more comments you leave, the better your chances! I’ll include a list of the blogs at the end of the post.

My card today is featuring this totally adorable stamp set Egg Hunt. How darling are these little guys!? I used almost everything on the stamp set. I couldn’t pick just one image. I stamped my images onto Neenah White card stock with copic friendly ink. Then colored with copic markers and die cut out with the coordinating die.

For my colorful background, I started with a piece of white card stock cut to 3 3/4″ x 5″ and attached the Basic Shapes Circle stencil using post it tape. I masked off some of the circles and started to ink blend some Distress Oxides. By masking off some of the circles, I could ink blend different colors and sizes are my card. Post it tape is great because it doesn’t harm my paper when I remove it. This way, I could pick up my stencil, clean it off and move to another area of my card for a new color.

Colors used were Cracked Pistachio, Tumbled Glass, Mustard Seed and Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide inks.

Next, I attached the Grassy Edges stencil to the bottom of the card and ink blended Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide. This created such a fun scene!

Once I was happy with my background, I attached this panel to another piece of white card stock measuring 4″ x 5 1/4″ and added this panel to a card stock base made from Salt Water Taffy card stock.

I finished off my card by attaching all of my die cut images. Some I used a regular tape runner and others I popped up with foam tape. I didn’t want to disrupt my scene with another piece of card stock for the sentiment, so I stamped directly onto the front panel using my Misti tool and Versafine Black ink. One more little bit of added interest is the darling Gumdrops.

I’m totally loving how this scene came out! I hope you enjoyed it too! I had so much fun creating it! Thank you to Your Next Stamp for inviting me. It’s always a blast playing with their products.

Your Next Stamp March Preview

Welcome everyone! I’m very excited to be joining Your Next Stamp as a guest for their March release! We have some amazing previews to share with you today. Be sure to also head to the YNS blog for more inspiration. Then set your alarms for the Blog Hop tomorrow featuring more cards!

My card today is featuring this adorable little lamb from the So Ewenique stamp set. There are quite a few fun images and sentiments on this stamp set. I stamped my image in copic friendly ink onto Neenah white card stock and colored with copic markers. Then used the coordinating die to cut it out.

I started creating my background by die cutting a heart from the right hand side of a piece of pattern paper. I attached the die cut heart to a piece of white card stock that was trimmed down to 4″ x 5 1/4″ and let the heart appear cut off. I’ve always loved this look.

My white panel is attached to a card base I created from Sunflower card stock by using foam tape to give dimension. I thought this yellow card base would really pull out the yellow in the pattern paper. Next, I added my die cut image to the center of the heart using foam squares.

My sentiment, also from the So Ewenique stamp set, is stamped in Clear Ink onto Black card stock. Then heat embossed with White embossing powder and trimmed down to a thin strip by using the Sentiment Label die from my stash. I attached the sentiment to the front of the card with foam tape as well.

For a little added interest, I used some of the YNS Gumdrops which are self adhesive enamel dots in come in a variety of colors.

I hope you enjoyed today’s inspiration! This really makes me wish Spring was here as I’m craving warmer weather. Be sure to head over to the YNS Blog for more inspiration.

Cocoa for You with Your Next Stamp

Welcome everyone! I’m back guest designing with Your Next Stamp and I’m featuring this fun Cocoa For You stamp set.
This is such a cute set and a great price point! I’m in love with the font on these sentiments too! I’m kind of liking leaving white space on my cards lately. I decided to stack my cups and incorporate a rainbow all in one. In order to stack my cups, I need to do a little masking.
Using a piece of Neenah White Card Stock 80lb., I stamped my top cup in copic friendly ink. I also stamped this image onto a piece of Masking paper and fussy cut a mask. Next, I applied my mask to my first cocoa cup. Then I line up my stamp where I want it to go next and stamp it. I will continue this same process all the way down the card until I fill up the side panel with cups!
Once all my stamping and masking is done, I color my cups with copic markers. This was almost a one layer card. Instead, I decided to stamp my sentiment onto Black Card Stock and heat emboss with white embossing powder. I trimmed the sentiment down to a thin strip using the Sentiment Labels die from Simon Says Stamp and attach to my card panel with foam squares.
This really was a relaxing card to create. Even though I’m not a fan of masking, these cups were super simple to trim out.
Copic Colors Used
