Welcome everyone! I’m thrilled to be guesting designing over at Dare 2B Artzy today with these gorgeous Tiger Lilies!
I started my card by heat embossing the Tiger Lilies onto Neenah Solar White cardstock with Hero Arts Embossing ink and Brutus Monroe Alabaster Embossing Powder.
Next, I used the emboss resist technique and ink blended Thistle, Grape Slush and Pool Party Hero Hues Reactive Inks using a small sponge dauber. I wiped off the excess ink with a paper towel to reveal the bright white embossing. Then fussy cut out my images.
For the background, I used a sun ray stencil and ink blended Fruit Punch and Lemon Drop inks. Once I removed the stencil, I lightly went over the white space with those same ink colors. I spritzed with water to create the speckles and also flicked on some Perfect Pearls mixed with water for a little shine.
I trimmed the panel down to 3 3/4″ x 5″ and added a sentiment using Obsidian Ink. I added this to a white panel which I then lined with foam tape and adhered to an A2 size notecard I created from Sunflower card stock.
Very bright and vibrant I know but ….. like the sentiment says “Be Happy, Be Bright, Be You.” This card is totally me.
