Nostalgic Christmas Card with the Special Delivery Stamp Set

Hello friends! Today I’m creating with the Special Delivery stamp set, and let me tell you, this little set has so much to offer! There’s just something special about old-fashioned trucks, especially when it comes to holiday cards. They have such a nostalgic feel, and when you pair one with a Christmas tree, you have the makings of a classic holiday card!

The Special Delivery stamp set may be small, but it has a huge reach when it comes to creative possibilities. The truck is the perfect size for an A2 card front, but I also think it would be adorable on a holiday gift tag!

One of the things I love about this set is how you can customize the truck for different seasons. You have the option of adding a Christmas tree or a bunch of pumpkins to the back of the truck, making it perfect for both fall and holiday cardmaking.

The set also includes a Special Delivery sentiment banner and two tiny images or sentiments that can be stamped directly onto the truck door, depending on what you’re hauling in the back.

I think that little detail might actually be my favorite part of the entire set! It’s not something you see very often with stamp sets like these, and it adds so much character to the finished design. It’s those small, thoughtful details that really make a stamp set stand out to me.

For my card today, I decided to go with a classic Christmas color combination of red and green. You really can’t go wrong with a bright red vintage truck carrying a Christmas tree!

I started by stamping my images onto white cardstock using an alcohol marker-friendly ink. Since I planned on coloring with my Copic markers, I wanted to make sure I was using an ink that wouldn’t smear or react with the markers.

I colored the truck in a beautiful, bright red and kept the Christmas tree a traditional green. I love how these two colors work together, especially for a nostalgic holiday design.

Once all of my coloring was complete, I stamped the little Tree Farm sentiment onto the door of the truck. How cute is that?! It’s such a simple addition, but it really brings the whole design together and gives the truck a little extra personality.

The Special Delivery stamp set also has coordinating dies available, which makes assembling the scene so easy. I used the dies to cut out both the truck and the Christmas tree, then tucked the tree into the back of the truck.

At this point, the truck was ready to become the focal point of my card!

With such a colorful focal image, I wanted to keep the background simple while still adding a little texture and interest.

For this, I reached for the Wonderland Snowflakes 3D Embossing Folder and a piece of blush cardstock.

I absolutely love the soft texture of the embossed snowflakes against the blush cardstock. It’s subtle enough that it doesn’t compete with the truck, but it still adds that little something extra to the background.

The soft blush color also works beautifully with the bright red truck and green Christmas tree. It’s a fun alternative to a traditional white snowy background while still keeping that classic holiday feeling.

To finish off the card, I stamped the Special Delivery sentiment banner using Field ink. I love the pop of green this adds to the design and how it ties in perfectly with the Christmas tree.

After die cutting the sentiment banner, I added foam adhesive to both the banner and the truck before attaching them to my embossed card front.

While I created a Christmas card today, I can already picture this little truck being used for so many other projects. I think it would be absolutely adorable on a holiday gift tag, especially with the Christmas tree tucked into the back. You could even switch things up with the pumpkins for a fun fall-themed card or tag.

I hope today’s card inspires you to pull out your favorite nostalgic images and create something fun for the holidays!

Thanks so much for joining me today, and happy crafting!
