Hello my friends! I’m so excited for my card project today and to be celebrating Simon Says Stamp latest release in the blog hop ! Be sure to read through the entire post for the blog hop and how to win a $25 gift certificate to Simon Says Stamp!
VIDEO
I have a video that you can view down below or HERE on my Youtube channel.
This card pictured below is actually a recreation of a card I did. I will share the original picture at the end of this post.
I was completely inspired by a technique that I saw Nina-Marie Trapani do a while back. She started with ink smooshing and built off of that and I was so inspired I had to try it! I also used the same colors as hers because I loved her card so much. I will link that video HERE for you to check out.
This card contains a lot of layers of ink and to be honest, I enjoyed this process so much. I’m using a mix of Distress Oxide Inks, Distress Inks, Distress Spray Stains and Distress Spritz.

Everything is shown in the video above so be sure to check that out. Down below I will list the main supplies used. A visual supply list is provided at the end of the post.
SUPPLIES
- Cosmos Duo Wafer Die
- Graceful Flowers Bundle
- Bubble Rings Embossing Folder
- Old Letter Clear Stamp
- A2 Nesting Frames
- Speckled Egg Distress Oxide Ink

Now here is the original card I created and sent in to Simon Says Stamp Headquarters.
You can see they are quite similar but with ink smooshing and all the techniques used, it’s impossible to make them look exactly the same.

Moody and wonderful…just like your Halloween card from yesterday! Thanks for inspiration of using florals in different look than traditional.
I love the background for this floral card because of all the colors & layers you used. I normally wouldn’t care for such a dark background, but you really pull it off.
