Cards Distress Oxide Inks My Favorite Things Shimmer Powders

MFT June 2020 Mid-Month Release

Welcome back everyone! I’m so excited to share inspiration with you featuring the new MFT June 2020 Mid Month Release that is all about florals! This release is just heavenly! The stamps are all red rubber stamps which means you are going to get beautifully stamped lines every time.

I’m going to start with the new Floating Petals Background stamp. I am a sucker for a background stamp and this one just jumped to the top of my favorites list. Background stamps are so versatile because there are so many techniques that can be done with them.

Here I heat embossed the Floating Petals in gold embossing powder on Bristol Smooth cardstock. Then ink blended Squeezed Lemonade, Carved Pumpkin and Barn Door distress oxide inks. The heat embossing resists the ink and I’ll just wipe away the excess with a dry rag.

I wanted the focus to stay on the background so I just added a large Thank You sentiment that I die cut out of white cardstock and white glitter cardstock. Then layered them together with liquid glue for dimension.

Next we have the Fanciful Roses Background stamp. This one could very easily be colored with any coloring medium but I decided to use Nuvo Shimmer Powders.

The background is heat embossed in white onto watercolor cardstock. I taped the cardstock down to a board and sprinkled on Lilac Waterfall and Catherine Wheel Nuvo Shimmer Powders. I carefully spritzed the paper with water and the shimmer powders just burst into colors.

I will let all that color and water air dry and then remove from the board. I am left with beautiful bright colors scattered around the paper. It’s hard to see in the pictures but it just shimmers in real life!

I finished off the card with a sentiments from Rainbow Greetings. I heat embossed the sentiment onto Black cardstock with white embossing powder and trimmed to a thin strip. My background was trimmed down to 3 3/4″ x 5″ and added to a white A2 size card base using foam tape. I also added the sentiment to the front with foam tape.

One more card to share for today is featuring the smaller image stamp set Magnolia’s Blossom. This is also a red rubber stamp and comes in 2 pieces. I’m just using the one image for my card. I stamped it in black copic friendly ink onto Kraft cardstock.

I colored the image with copic markers and added highlights using a white polychromos pencil. If you were to ever have colored pencils in your collection, the white one is the one to have.

I trimmed the cardstock down to add to a white notecard and added a sentiment from the Well Hello stamp set.

I hope you enjoyed a little peek into the Mid Month release! I have more ideas and projects to come but be sure to head over to MFT and grab yours!

Thank you MFT for providing me with these amazing stamps to showcase today.
