Simon Says Stamp DieCember Release

Welcome everyone! It’s that time of year! It’s time for the Simon Says Stamp DieCember 2019 release!

There are tons of new products being released today so be sure to head over to Simon Says Stamp to check them all out.

I’ll be focusing on the Shimmer Oval die. It die cuts this gorgeous pattern and also has a double stitched oval border you can add.

Now I actually have two cards to share with you both featuring the Shimmer Oval die. I turned mine into Christmas cards but you can use this die anytime throughout the year.

For my first card, I started by die cutting the double stitched border from a piece of Cranberry cardstock. Using that as a guide, I lined up the oval design die, held it in place with purple tape and die cut the pattern from white cardstock.

I layered the white die cut panel onto a piece of red glitter cardstock using Lawn Fawn liquid glue. Then I added my cranberry panel using foam tape to add dimension.

I topped it off by die cutting the Merry Die from Black cardstock and Gold Glitter cardstock. Then layered together with liquid glue. I also heat embossed this “Christmas” sentiment onto Fresh Asparagus cardstock with gold embossing powder. The small sentiment comes from the Ornamental stamp set.

I die cut out the sentiment using the Sentiment Labels die which is definite staple in my stash. I attached both pieces to my card front with liquid glue.

My next card is quite similar but I eliminated the top piece.

I die cut the Shimmer Oval die from white cardstock and attached to a panel of Gold Glitter cardstock using the liquid glue.

The Merry die I die cut from White and Cranberry cardstock and layered together.

I used the Ornamental stamp set again for the smaller sentiment but this time I heat embossed it in Gold onto Black cardstock.

The “Merry” I added directly to the front using liquid glue. The smaller sentiment I attached with a bit of foam tape.

I had thought about adding some sequins and jewels but really enjoyed this clean & simple look.

I hope you enjoyed today’s inspiration! All of the supplies are listed down below.
