Neat & Tangled Release Recap

Hey everyone! Welcome back! I hope you enjoyed all the inspiration this week featuring the September release from Neat & Tangled. As you may have seen, I had a ton of fun!

But wait! I have one more card to share with you.

In today’s card I’m featuring the Starry Sky stamp set and pairing it with an image from the stamp set To The Stars.

I started by creating my background. First, I ink blended a piece of Neenah Solar White 80 lb card stock using Wilted Violet, Picked Raspberry and Tattered Rose Distress Oxide ink with Life Changing Blender Brushes.

Once this was dry, and you need to make sure it’s completely dry, I stamped the Starry Sky background in Embossing ink. Then heat set with Gold Embossing Powder. I trimmed the panel down and attached to an A2 card base made from white card stock.

My image comes from the To The Stars stamp set. I stamped it in Black Ink using my Misti Stamping Tool onto some Neenah Solar White 80 lb. card stock. Then colored with copic markers.

Once colored, I die cut using the coordinating dies and my Gemini Jr die cutting machine. I adhered my images to the front of the card with tape runner and foam squares. After I took the picture I realized I may have used the same color combo for a previous card I created using these fairies. I guess I really like this combo (lol!)

I finished off the card by adding a sentiment that I stamped onto Black card stock with Embossing Ink and heat embossing with gold Embossing powder.

In case you missed it, here is my inspiration from earlier this week. I’ll include links to these posts as well.

My first set of cards is creating a glowing background for the Lunar Moth from the Moon Magic stamp set. You can read more about this card (HERE) in a previous post. I also have a video that you can (HERE) on my Youtube channel showing how I created it.

My next card not only features the Moon Magic stamp set but the Moon & Stars stamp set as well. You can read more about this card (HERE) on my earlier post.

Then I have a card featuring yet again, the glorious Moon Magic stamp set paired with the Starry Background. You can read about this card (HERE) on my earlier post.

And last but not least, is my card from Day featuring the Moon Magic with the Grateful Heart stamp set. You can read about this card (HERE).

Whew! Tons of inspiration that I hoped spark your creativity. I really enjoyed this release and hope you do too.

CARD DETAILS

Can you believe I left white space on my card today? I know, weird right?

I started by stamping my image from Moon Magic onto Arches Cold Press Watercolor card stock with Embossing Ink. I heat embossed the image with Gold Embossing Powder.

Next, I used the same technique that I did in my video from Monday (click HERE to check out the video watercoloring with Zig Markers) to watercolor my image with Zig Markers.

Once my image was dry, I used the coordinating die to cut it out.

On a piece of Neenah Solar White card stock 110 lb., I stamped the large image from Grateful Heart stamp set using Black Ink. I added my Lunar Moth with foam squares for dimension.

All of the sentiments are so beautiful on the Moon Magic stamp set. I stamped one of them onto Black card stock with embossing ink. Then heat embossed with Gold Embossing Powder. I attached my sentiment straight to my card front with a tape runner.

To finish off the card I added a few of the Like Magic sequins using liquid glue and topped them off with Cloud 9 Nuvo Dream Drops.

I hope you enjoyed today’s inspiration! Even though I love a dramatic background, I do love how this came out.

Neat & Tangled Day 3 + GIVEAWAY

Welcome back everyone! Did you pick up the new release from Neat & Tangled yet? You totally should! It’s amazing! You can pick up the entire release in one discounted bundle too! (click HERE to pick up your release goodies)

GIVEAWAY

Each day we are having a giveaway so be sure to leave a comment on the Neat & Tangled blog to be entered. Today’s prize is going to be the Starry Sky Background which I’m featuring today. Also, leave a comment on the Designer’s blogs and a winner will be chosen from throughout the week for a $25 gift certificate to the store. Winners will be announced Friday, September 27 at 7:30 am EST.

CARD DETAILS

My card today is featuring the Starry Sky background. This creates such a magical edge to you card fronts. It is a red rubber stamp that measures 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ and fits an A2 size card perfectly.

I started my background by first ink blending the edges of a piece of Lapis card stock. I used Cornflower and Navy ink from Hero Arts and applied the ink with my Life Changing Blender Brushes from Picket Fence Studios. I’m working on a Waffle Flower Media Mat which is Silicone and helps hold my card stock in place while I ink blend.

Once my background is dry, I can stamp my background.

If you are using a stamping tool, like the Misti which is what I did, you need to remove the foam insert piece from the Misti. I stamped my background onto my ink blended panel using Embossing Ink. Then heat embossed Gold Embossing Powder. Dreamy right?

I trimmed a smidge off the edges and attached to a card front made from Fog card stock.

For my Lunar Moth from the Moon Magic stamp set, I stamp the image onto Pearlescent Vellum from Lawn Fawn with Embossing Ink. Then applied Silver Embossing Powder and heat set. I used the coordinating die to cut out my image and also cut out 2 more from the Pearlescent Vellum. Vellum can be tricky to attach without showing the adhesive which is why I cut out 2 more. I was able to layer these together by completely covering them with tape runner adhesive making sure my embossed image was on top. Sneaky right?

I finished off the card by adhering a sentiment from the Moon Magic stamp set. I had heat embossed the sentiment in Gold onto Pitch Black cards stock. I also added a couple drop of Nuvo Gold Luxe Dream Drops to the small dots on the wings of the Moth.

I hope you enjoyed today’s inspiration! Be sure to stop back tomorrow as I will have more to share!

I also went ahead and stamped my image from the Moon Magic stamp set onto Arches Cold Press Watercolor card stock in Embossing Ink. Then heat set with Silver Embossing Powder.

You can head over to pick up the new release NOW (click HERE for shopping) in one discounted bundle or purchase items separately.

GIVEAWAY

Each day we are having a giveaway so be sure to leave a comment on the Neat & Tangled blog to be entered. Today’s prize is going to be the Moon Magic + Dies which I’m featuring today. Also, leave a comment on the Designer’s blogs and a winner will be chosen from throughout the week for a $25 gift certificate to the store. VIDEO

I have a video to share today doing a quick walk through of the new release and creating a card start to finish. You can view the video down below or HERE on my Youtube channel.

CARD DETAILS

We are going to be creating some magic today with this new set. My image from the Moon Magic stamp set is stamped in embossing ink onto Arches Cold Press Watercolor card stock using my Misti Stamping Tool. Then heat embossed with Champagne Embossing Powder.

I water colored my image using Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. For this card shown, I am using No.031 Cobalt Blue, No.032 Persian Blue, No. 084 Deep Violet and No. 902 Natural Gray. To do the watercoloring I’ll be using a Royal & Langnickel Zen No. 3 brush.

For my background, I ink blended Cracked Pistachio, Salty Ocean, Blueprint Sketch and Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide ink onto Neenah Solar White 80 lb card stock using blending brushes. I’m doing my ink blending on a Waffle Flower Media Mat which is Silicone mat and helps my paper stay in place.

After ink blending, I flicked on some watered down White Glimmer Metallic Ink from Hero Arts using a paint brush.

My sentiment is from the Moon Magic stamp set as well. I heat embossed it using Champagne Embossing Powder onto Pitch Black card stock and trimmed down.

Now you’ll notice I have two cards here. The one in front is the one I created in the video. The one in the background is my original version where I had used the Deep Purple for contrast. While I was coloring my image for the second time in the video, I decided to skip the purple and just deepen the blue with the Persian Blue.

This is the beauty of water coloring is nothing will ever come out exactly the same. They are very similar and while my husband couldn’t really tell the difference, I could.

I finished off my cards by adding the NEW Like Magic sequins mix with Lawn Fawn liquid glue. Then I topped off the sequins with Nuvo Dream Dots in Cloud 9 which almost look like pearls once dry.

I can’t wait to share what else I’ve been working on!

Remember, this release is available NOW! I’ll have more inspiration to share over the week but don’t miss out on this release because I have a feeling it will fly off the shelves! (see what I did there?! )
