Cards Simon Says Stamp

Shine On Release Blog Hop Day 2 | Simon Says Stamp

Welcome, crafty friends! I’m excited to be joining Simon Says Stamp for Shine On Blog Hop Day 2, and today I’m sharing how you can get two completely different looks from the exact same products.

Before we begin, check out this FREE GIFT! Receive this exclusive, not yet released Deco Blossoms 3×4 stamp set with any purchase from the Shine On collection.

The stamp set will be automatically added to your cart with your qualifying purchase.

Both of my cards feature the Prize Ribbon Die, and the layout stays exactly the same. The only thing I changed was the color palette, proving that a simple swap of cardstock can completely transform a design.

For my first card, I die cut the ribbon from classic reds and blues for a traditional prize ribbon look that would also work beautifully for patriotic cards. My second ribbon uses Bellini and Coral cardstock for a bright, cheerful design that’s perfect for birthdays and celebrations.

The center of each ribbon is stamped with a sentiment from the Prize Ribbon Stamp Set, which was designed to fit perfectly inside the focal circle. To give the ribbons extra dimension, I assembled each layer with thin foam squares.

Both cards also feature the Star Champion 3D Embossing Folder, but I changed up the backgrounds to complement each color scheme. For the red, white, and blue ribbon, I embossed the design onto kraft cardstock and added splatters of gold, white, and black for a fun mixed-media feel. The coral version is embossed on white cardstock and finished with gold and sparkle splatter for a softer, more elegant look.

To finish each card, I heat embossed the little streamers from the Having Fun Stamp Set with gold embossing powder, die cut them, and tucked them behind the ribbon for an extra touch of shine and celebration.

Same layout. Same products. Two completely different looks! I hope this inspires you to revisit your favorite dies and experiment with different color combinations—you might be surprised how dramatically a few color changes can transform your design.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and don’t forget to continue along the blog hop for even more inspiration from the Shine On release. Happy crafting!
