Holographic Shine + Double the Design: Two Ways with One Background: Simon Says Stamp

Welcome friends! I am back with inspiration !

My card today is all about shine and simplicity — featuring the stunning Dainty Floral Vine die paired with eye-catching holographic cardstock. I’m absolutely in love with how the light dances across this cardstock, shifting colors as you tilt it. It brings such a magical feel to even the most delicate designs.

To start, I stamped the Swiss Dot Background using black ink onto white cardstock. It’s a simple pattern but adds such a modern and graphic touch. Then, I used an A2 rectangle die to cut out the panel—this gave me two pieces to work with: a solid inner rectangle and a thin outer frame. I love when one step gives me double the pieces for future cards!

For this first card, I used the frame piece and popped it up with foam tape to add depth and dimension. Then, I stacked the Dainty Floral Vine die cuts to give them a bit more lift before placing it over the open area of the frame.

To soften the look and add some detail, I layered a few white die cut flowers onto the vine and placed prism gems in their centers for a touch of sparkle and shine. The sentiment is from the Reverse I See You sentiment strips—simple, clean, and easy to tuck in alongside the vine.

For my second card, I used the inner rectangle panel from the original background. This part already had the Swiss Dot Background stamped in black, which gave me an instant foundation without needing to start from scratch—a huge time-saver!

I kept the design cohesive by using another Dainty Floral Vine die cut from the same holographic cardstock. Just like with the first card, I stacked the die cuts for added dimension, giving that delicate vine some structure so it really stands out against the background.

To balance the shimmer and tie everything together, I once again added white die cut flowers to the vine, topped with prism gems for that perfect pop of sparkle. The sentiment is also from the Reverse I See You set, keeping the look unified across both designs.

Even though both cards started from the same background and die, I love how they each have their own vibe—one with a raised frame and open center, and the other with a full panel and grounded design. It’s a great reminder that with a little creativity, one stamped background can give you multiple unique cards!

Thanks again for joining me today! I hope these ideas spark some inspiration to make the most of your backgrounds and get even more from your favorite dies.
