Hello friends, and welcome! Today I have a beautiful new project to share featuring some of the latest products from Pinkfresh Studio! We’re celebrating with a fun blog hop filled with inspiration and, of course, a giveaway! Be sure to read through the post for all the details on how you can join in.
I also filmed the process of creating today’s card and hope to have that video available later today. In the meantime, let’s take a closer look at this colorful floral shaker card!
For today’s project, I’m featuring the new Dragonfly Floral Frame from Pinkfresh Studio. This beautiful design includes a floral frame and a delicate dragonfly that can be used together or separately.
The products are available individually, including the coverplate die and coordinating stencil set. The stencils make it easy to add color to all of the beautiful details, and the guides on the die help with lining everything up for die cutting. One of my favorite features is that the dragonfly cuts out separately, allowing you to position it anywhere on your card.

I started by adding color to the floral frame using an assortment of teal and green inks, including Ocean Breeze and Aquamarine. I love how these colors work together to create a fresh, vibrant look!
For the flowers, I brought in Sparkling Rose and Bubblegum for some pretty pops of pink. I finished the flower centers with Gathered Twigs to add a little contrast and definition.
Originally, I had colored the dragonfly using Peach Fuzz and Apricot. While those colors were beautiful on their own, I wasn’t completely happy with how they looked alongside the teal and green floral frame. Sometimes you just have to change direction! I decided to die cut the dragonfly from white cardstock instead, and I really liked how that looked with the rest of the design.
Once the floral frame was die cut, I had a better idea of how I wanted to finish the card. The frame measures slightly smaller than an A2 card front, which gives you a great opportunity to use a colored card base and have a little color peeking out around the edges.
I considered that option but ultimately decided to stick with white to keep the overall design light and fresh.
Instead, I created a separate panel sized to fit perfectly behind the floral frame. Using Soft Lilac and Candy Violet inks, I blended a beautiful purple background, keeping the color darker around the outer edges and lighter toward the center.
This gave me a soft glow behind the dragonfly while providing a nice contrast to the teal and pink flowers.
To add a little sparkle, I splattered the background with Shimmer Splash in Gilded. Those tiny gold splatters are such a pretty detail, especially when they catch the light!

I couldn’t resist turning this design into a shaker card! The floral frame is perfect for this because it creates a beautiful decorative border around the shaker window.
After die cutting the frame, I adhered a piece of clear acetate behind it and then added foam strips to create the shaker well.
For the shaker elements, I pulled out an assortment of iridescent stars and confetti sequins from my stash. I love mixing different shapes and finishes because they add so much movement and sparkle without taking away from the design.
Once the shaker was filled, I attached the ink-blended purple panel to seal everything in place. I then adhered the completed shaker panel to my white A2 card front.
I really love how the purple background brings out the teal and green tones in the floral frame, while the iridescent shaker elements add just the right amount of shine.
To finish the card, I reached for the Heirloom Cottage stamp and die set for my sentiment. I stamped the greeting in black ink and used the coordinating die to cut it out.
I positioned the white dragonfly in the center of the floral frame and placed the sentiment directly underneath. Keeping the dragonfly white really helped it stand out against the purple background without competing with all the color in the flowers.

As one final detail, I added a few highlights to the flowers using a white gel pen. It’s such a simple finishing touch, but those little highlights can really bring the flowers to life!
I’m so happy with how this card came together! Between the colorful floral frame, soft purple ink blending, and all that shaker sparkle, there’s so much to love about this design.
The Dragonfly Floral Frame is such a versatile set, too. You could easily skip the shaker element for a simpler card, experiment with different color combinations, or move the dragonfly to a completely different position for another look.
