Hey friends! I’m back again with more card inspiration and this time I’m creating a mixed media card. Mixed media doesn’t have to be scary. It’s as simple as mixing up a few different medium on your card front.
VIDEO
I have a video that you can view down below or HERE on my Youtube channel.
For my card today, I’m combining background stamping with ink blending.
The background stamp I’m using is the Script Bold Print from Hero Arts that I’m stamping using Pebble Ink from Concord & 9th.

Next, I’m going to use the Cottage Garden layering stencil to ink blend on my images. I used quite the variety of colors to really add intensity to the design but you could certainly get a way with just a few colors.
The colors I’m using are:
- Pink Lemonade
- Sweet Pea
- Nectar
- Sorbet
- Buttercup
- Sunflower
- Tidepool
- Oceanside
- Fig
- Avocado
- Wheat
- Nutmeg

Next I’m going to add splatters. To do this I’m using the Black Soot Distress Spray Stain and Iuile watercolors.
Just a couple different mediums and I’ve created a mixed media card.

I’m going to use a sentiment from one of my favorite die sets and that is the Just Saying set from Concord & 9th.

I absolutely love how you can still kind of see the stamping behind the ink blending.
Hope you enjoyed today’s card project. Be sure to check the video for all the details as I just covered a few key points.
THanks for stopping by!

Really GORGEOUS card, Mindy!!!! I love the text background and your colors!!
I love this card! That stencil is fabulous! I love how you ink blended over the script!
Oh, Mindy!! I am normally not a big fan of the “mixed media” look, but the design and great colors of this card have my heart. It is simply terrific! Thanks for sharing!
