Hey friends! I hope you had a wonderful weekend! It’s been a little quiet on my end lately with lots of projects and planning going on. Today I’m joining Altenew in a video hop with the July 2023 release. Altenew has come out with Betterpress Letterpress plates and I’m showing how you can use them with dye inks.
VIDEO
You can check out that video down below or HERE on my Youtube channel.
The video is covering the Betterpress plates but I have more inspiration to share with you here on my blog. There’s a little something for everyone !
First let’s take a look at the cards I created with the Betterpress plates.
This first card is using the Spellbinders Specialty paper and Pool ink from Altenew.

I’m using the Floral Engraving Betterpress plate for the card design.

I was quite impressed with how well the dye ink transferred.

This next card features the Dainty Flower Garden Betterpress plates. I did a little experimenting with some on this one by first ink blending Coral Red and Sunray dye ink.

I used the Betterpress Plate with those same inks but ended up using Black to make it stand out a little more from the ink blended background.
You may see a slight halo around the image and that’s only because I didn’t have my paper adhered well enough to the clear plate when I was doing the impression.
This panel is trimmed down and added to a card front using the Dotted Wave Debossing plate and a sentiment from the Sincere Sentiments stamp set.

Next, I tried using the Betterpress plates with Hammermill cardstock and the Altenew Coral Red Ink.
I got an amazing transfer but I do want to point out I did not get the letterpress feel to the design like I would using the specialty paper.
This card was completed using the Versatile Greetings 2 Hot Foil Plate and die set.

Next, I did just an impression, no ink which makes for a very elegant look!
I added the sentiment from the Versatile Greetings 2 Hot Foil Plate & die set.

Check out that amazing detail!

Now if you are not ready to jump on the Betterpress Letterpress train, that’s ok. I just wanted to show you how you can use it. Now I will share inspiration using other products from this release.
This card is using the Dreamy Daylilies bundle.

I used the new Green Fields and Deco Garden ink bundles to color in the image with the coordinating stencil AFTER I had embossed the design with the 3D embossing folder.

I paired it with a sentiment from the Boat Adventures stamp set. I thought a circle greeting was a nice change up.

I also have a card where I took a die and created my own stencil! The die I used is the Pond Flowers die set. I just die cut it from white cardstock and ink blended in the center. I also used the Color Blobs stencil to add those black dots for a fun detail.
The flowers are also from the Pond Flowers die set and sentiment from Boat Adventures.

Another card I have to share is the Sketched Floral stamp and die set. I love how whimsical these flowers are.

I stamped them in numerous new dye ink colors and added a sentiment from the Boat Adventures stamp set.

One more card to share is very clean and simple.
It is using the Color Blobs stencil and Dainty Flowers stamp set.

So that was a ton of inspiration! I hope you it has given you some ideas for getting crafty.
Please note. This is not a sponsored post or video. I chose to participate and was able to pick out which products I wanted to work with.

Wow! These are phenomenal! So gorgeous!! My fave is the carpe diem, but I like them all a great deal!
