Welcome friends! The July 2023 My Monthly Hero Kit from Hero Arts is now available! I’m really excited for this kit as I am such a fan of silhouette images. Plus, REALLY read through what’s included in these kits because it is seriously packed!
First, here is the Classic Kit.

Included in the Classic Kit:
- 6″ x 8″ Clear Stamp
- 8 Piece Dancelion Fancy Dies
- Parklands Window Fancy Die
- 3″ x 4″ Linen Cling Stamp
- Blue To Green Reactive Ombre Ink Pad
Now let’s take a look at the Premium Kit

Included in the Premium Kit
- EVERYTHING IN THE CLASSIC KIT PLUS….
- 11 Picnic Basket Fancy Dies
- 2 Picnic Scene Detail Fancy Dies
- 45 Piece Wild Flower Ephemera Pack
- 1 Sheet of Each Pesto and Passion Flower Cardstock
- 2 Sheets of White Woodgrain Cardstock
Now onto the inspiration!
For my card I’m using the large silhouette image from the clear stamp set. Using Blue Hawaii Reactive Ink Cube, I applied ink to the image starting at the bottom and going about half way up. Then used a blending brush and pounced the brush over the last place I applied ink to help soften the line.
Also using my blending brush with the ink on it that I picked up from the image, I gently tapped the remaining part of the image that didn’t have ink. This is going to give me a very light look at the very top.

Next I’ll come in with Purple Galaxy Reactive Ink Cube, ink up the very bottom of the image and then use that same pouncing technique with a blending brush to soft the transition.
I repeated these steps multiple times until I got the depth that I wanted with the ink colors.
I used the remaining ink on the brushes to lightly ink blend onto my background.
I trimmed the panel down to 3 3/4″ x 5″, stamped a sentiment in Black ink and adhered to a white cardbase.

My next card is a little bit of a mix. I stamped and colored the images from the Picnic Basket stamp set. Then cut out with the coordinating die. The sentiment comes from the Lemonade Day stamp.

Now for the background, I lightly ink blended Blue Hawaii Reactive Ink and Key Lime Fizz Reactive Ink.
I added bits of ephemera from the Premium Kit to the background to fill in my scene.

One more card to share and that is using the fun Color Layering Watermelon Stencil.
I started with Peony cardstock and ink blended Azalea ink for the watermelon, Green Apple Reactive Ink for the first layer of Green and then Charcoal for the very outer edges and details of the watermelons.

I trimmed the panel down and added it to a mat that I created with the Scallop Rectangles and Pine Cardstock.
This beautiful sentiment comes from the Lemonade Day stamp set which also has a coordinating die.

I hope you enjoyed today’s inspiration using the new My Monthly Hero Kit and July 2023 release from Hero Arts!
