Tried and True Card Design

Hi friends! I’m popping by to share a card I created using the Honey Bee Stamps Hearts in Bloom stencil. It’s a beautiful layering stencil to create a background.

I have a video that you can view down below or HERE on my Youtube channel.

For the colors of my background, I was inspired by the packaging. I decided to use my Distress Inks today with my blending brushes.

The colors I used are:

An after-thought I had to add some sparkle was bringing the first layer of the stencil back in and apply Moonstone Glimmer Paste.

I admit, I struggle with the design of the card sometimes. So, I went back to a tried and true favorite design of mine and that is to create a thick white border.

I used the Sweet Stacks Rectangles and die cut a frame from 110 lb White cardstock.

I added the frame to my background using Altenew Foam Tape.

I’m going to use a sentiment from the Foil Script Love Hot Foil Plate set. In the video, you’ll see I was very indecisive about which color foil to use: Red, Black or Satin Champagne. While I should really get out of my comfort zone and try something new, I fell to my favorite Satin Champagne Glimmer Foil. I’ll save the others for a future project.

Very simple design but boy do I love it!
