Altenew Paint-A-Flower: Rose Release Blog Hop & Giveaway

Welcome everyone! Today we are celebrating the release of the new Paint-A-Flower Rose with a blog hop filled with inspiration and a giveaway! I have two cards I’ll be sharing with you today.

For my first card, I did some watercoloring. Watercoloring is something I’ve been enjoying lately and it definitely gets easier the more you practice.

I stamped the image in clear ink onto Fabriano Artistico White watercolor paper and heat embossed with Gold embossing powder. Then I watercolored the image with the new Artist Watercolors set from Altenew.

Once the panel was dry, I trimmed it down with an A2 Layering die. I ink blended Word Lipstick Distress Oxide Ink around the edges and then flicked on some Red & Gold Metallic watercolors.

I mounted the panel to an A2 size white card base using a tape runner. I finished off the card by heat embossing the sentiment in Gold onto Black cardstock and attaching with foam tape.

There is also a smaller Rose image on this set. I stamped the image in copic friendly ink and colored with Altenew Alcohol Markers. This is my first time using the alcohol markers and I will admit, I love them! They blend very well and I love how the colors all coordinate with eachother.

I kept the card clean and simple and just added a sentiment underneath by stamping it with my Misti.

The Paint-A-Flower sets are amazing for any coloring medium.

I hope you enjoyed today’s inspiration.

I love the hints of gold you scattered around this gorgeous rose stamping, Mindy. Your ink blending and splatters rock it! And that smaller rose card is just so sweet. Thanks for sharing your talents with us.

Both are so lovely. I do think the pink/gold combination worked wonderfully for you. I keep trying with the watercolor but am far from being happy with it. Keep working on it!!!

The gold embossed floral stamp was just lovely— a bit of glitz and tradition all at once! I can’t believe this is your first water color on the smaller bloom! Makes me less intimidated by alcohol markers. tfs

The beauty of the first card was enhanced with the gold embossing and spotlight effect. I love the elegant simplicity of your second card.
