Welcome back! Today I’m sharing how to easily mask a background for your cards. And why not throw in a little rainbow while we’re at it?
VIDEO
I have a video that you can view down below or HERE on my Youtube channel.
To create my mask, I am die cutting the Outside In Stitched Heart Stackables from Gina K Designs Masking Magic. This is a really great masking paper as it’s tacky enough to hold down to your cardstock but won’t rip your paper. You can easily reposition it if needed.
I’m ink blending a rainbow on Lawn Fawn White cardstock. I haven’t used my Distress Inks in a while so I pulled out Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed, Twisted Citron and Salty Ocean Distress Inks.

After the ink blending, I’ll flick on Liquid Stardust for sparkle.
To complete my scene I copic colored images from Love Poems and You’re Just My Type in which I stamped onto Lawn Fawn White cardstock with Jet Black ink.
My sentiment is heat embossed in White onto Black cardstock that I cut out with the Simple Wavy Banners die. I love the drastic pop of Black against my rainbow.

One last finishing touch, which I added before I attached my sentiment, is adding clouds. I die cut the Simple Puffy Clouds from Pixie Dust cardstock.

Be sure to check out the complete tutorial over on my Youtube channel.
