Welcome back everyone! I just can’t get over this adorable Yeti from Mama Elephant. My card today is creating a winter night time scene.
CARD DETAILS
I’m using the stamp set Me & My Yeti from Mama Elephant. The first thing I do is create a mask for my moon. I used the Stackable Circles die and Simon Says Stamp Masking paper. I apply my circle mask to a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock measuring 4″ x 5 1/4″. Next, I ink blend Stormy Sky, Mermaid Lagoon, Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot Distress ink. I build up my color keeping the darkest colors to the outside. Then I remove the mask and lightly go over the moon with Stormy Sky Distress Ink. To finish off the sky, I flick on some white paint with a paint brush for a snowy sky effect and spritz with Shimmer Spritz.
My images are stamped onto Neenah White carstock with MFT Extreme Black Ink then colored with copic markers. I like using the stippling technique for this which means I’m just adding dots to add color to my image. This also gives the look of texture and I think is a really fun look!
I also stamped the banner from Sentiments From a Yeti stamp set and used the coordinating die to cut it out. I added a hill to my sky background using a Stitched Hillside Die and White Glitter cardstock. I tucked my trees behind the hill and added my Yeti to the front with foam tape. I layered my panel with white cardstock and added to a cardbase I created with Blue Denim Cardstock. For a little more sparkle, I added a Nuvo Shimmer Pen to the stars and then covered the stars with Crystalline Drops from Gina K Designs.
How sweet is it with the Yeti holding that banner?!
