Color Combo Board Distress Oxide Inks Simon Says Stamp Stencils

Leafy Frame Stencil – Simon Says Stamp

Thanks for stopping by everyone! I have a little ink blending and copic coloring to share with you today. I’m featuring some products that are from the Sending Sunshine Simon Says Stamp Release. I’ll have all the supplies listed at the bottom of this post but please remember, if anything shows as sold out, click the Notify Me button so you can snag it as soon as it comes in!
This is quite a unique stencil! I envisioned peering through the leaves at a beautiful night sky and I’ll show you how I did it! I also have a video later in the post that walks you through the process too.
I’m going to start by taking a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock measuring 4 1/4″ x . 5 1/2″ and applying Lucky Clover Distress Oxide Ink heavily around the edges. This is where my leaves are going to be.
Next, I attach my stencil to my panel with some micropore tape just on the edges to hold my stencil in place. This is a delicate stencil so you are going to want to be careful when ink blending. I will start with Wilted Violet Distress Oxide ink and sponging it lightly in the middle of my panel. Just a couple smudges will do.
Then, I’m going to go around the stencil working my way towards the middle with some Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide ink. I’m actually going to dab it on. You don’t want to use circular motions here because the stencil leaves will move and you won’t get a good impression.  After the Blueprint Sketch, I’ll add some Black Soot Distress Oxide.
For the illusion of stars, I’m going to splatter on some lightly watered down white paint by flicking it on with a paint brush.
This panel is trimmed by down running it through my diecut machine with the Stitched Rectangle die. Then I can use this fun message from the Playful Messages stamp set and heat emboss it with Silver Embossing Powder. I will then attach this finished panel to an A2 size white notecard with fun foam and double sided tape.
This adorable monkey is from the Hello There stamp set also a part of the Sending Sunshine release from Simon Says Stamp. I’ll stamp it onto Neenah White cardstock 80lb with copic friendly ink. Then color with my copics, diecut using the coordinating dies and attach to my card.
Copics used are
Body – E59, E37, E35
Muzzle/Belly – E13, E11, E01
Ears – R22, R20
I finished off the card with some beautiful Sparkling Confetti from Pretty Pink Posh.
Here is a look at the process. You can view the video down below or HERE on my Youtube channel.
