Cards Distress Oxide Inks Masking Simon Says Stamp

Forever Friends – Simon Says Stamp

Hi Everyone! Sorry for all the posts today lol but I’m back again to share a card for the challenge over at Simon Says Stamp blog featuring one of their Stamptember sets that was recently released. How cute are these critters?! Have you noticed I love critter stamps? I couldn’t pick just one to color up so I did all the critters on this stamp set.
Supplies will be linked at the bottom of this post.
I started out by stamping all of these critters onto Neenah White Cardstock with the Memento Tuxedo Black ink with my Misti (best tool ever!) Then I colored them all up with my copic markers. I didn’t want to have a huge list (or pile) of colors so I tried to use the same ones throughout the critters.
Once they were all colored in I cut them out with my Scan n Cut Machine.
I made the same background for each since I thought these would make adorable note cards. My main piece that I was going to do the ink blending on measure 3 3/4″ x 3 3/4″ so that is the size I cut my masking paper to. Then I ran it through my big shot machine with the MOD Square Stacks die so it would cut out the middle section. I then applied that to my card so it leaves the middle open for me to do some ink blending on. This masking paper is great because it will stick to the paper enough to mask your area off but won’t tear your paper when you remove it.
I used Salty Ocean and Twisted Citron Distress Oxides on the Bristol Smooth cardstock. Such a pretty combo!! I removed my mask and did the same for the next 3 cards.
Once the blending was done, I lined up where each critter would go and figured out where the sentiments would go. Then stamped those with Versafine Ink which is nice black ink but it does take a while to dry on the oxides. I attached this card piece to a 4″ x 4″ size notecard.
Finally, I added each of my critters to the cards using foam squares. These critters are so adorable! I cannot wait to make more!!
