I am trying something a little different and created a process video for this card. It’s nothing too complex – just something I like to do on my cards and I wanted to share. I hope you take a minute to take a peek!
For this card, I stenciled in some clouds on a piece of 4 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ Neenah Solar White Cardstock using my new stencil from My Favorite Things ( I know I’ll be using this a lot!). I used Broken China Distress Ink Oxide. I chose to use the oxide versus regular distress ink as I really like how the oxide inks blend. It’s like butter! The other distress inks I feel like I really have to work hard to get those lines to blend out.
Using my heart die from Jaded Blossom, I cut out a heart from the stenciled background.
I colored up my little Bug Birgitta uses mainly blues. Bug Birgitta is part of the new May release from C.C. Designs. If you watch the video, you’ll see my little “oops!” and how I fixed it. It was an unintentional way of showing how to save your project! haha!f
Once she was colored up, I cut her out with my Scan N Cut ( because I hate fussy-cutting!) . I layered up my card, added my heart cutout and popped up Bug Birgitta with some foam squares. I made sure to add my sentiment before attaching my image.
For a finishing touch, I added some Nuvo Crystal drops of course!
I hope you find some inspiration in my card today! I know my posts can get long but I try to explain the best I can so you can recreate this or part of it for your own cards and I always provide plenty of pictures!
