Create Beautiful Dimension with Ink Blending & Embossing: Simon Says Stamp Every Happiness Blog Hop Day 2

Promotional banner announcing a free Golden Sunflower stamp set with purchase, featuring a sunflower image and birthday sentiment.

Welcome friends, and welcome to Day 2 of the Simon Says Stamp Every Happiness Release Blog Hop! I’m so happy you’re here! This release is packed with beautiful inspiration, and I’m excited to be sharing today’s project with you.

Receive this exclusive, not yet released Golden Sunflower 3×4 stamp set with any purchase from the Every Happiness collection. This set will be automatically added to your cart.

For this card, I wanted to focus on one of my favorite ways to elevate a design—adding dimension through texture and layers. Even when using a simple color palette, combining ink blending, embossing, and popped-up die cuts can completely transform a card and make every element stand out.

VIDEO

If you’d like to see the entire process from start to finish, be sure to watch the video below or over on my YouTube channel. I’ve linked the video below, and you’ll also find a complete visual supply list with links to everything I used in the video description.

A greeting card featuring vibrant pink flowers against a gradient background of yellow and green, with the word 'THANKS' elegantly displayed in silver at the bottom.

The background starts with a soft blend of Butter and Tropic inks before adding the beautiful texture of the Woven Rings Embossing Folder. A light touch of white pigment ink over the raised areas helps highlight the embossed details and adds even more interest.

A handmade card featuring blooming pink tulips against a gradient background transitioning from yellow to green, with the word 'THANKS' elegantly displayed in the foreground.

For the focal point, I used the Tissue Petal Stems dies, ink blending the flowers with shades of pink and the stems with soft greens. Instead of adhering everything flat, I popped up the florals with thin foam squares.

A layered frame created with the A2 Stitched Arches dies helps draw attention to the bouquet while adding another subtle layer of dimension.

A greeting card featuring three purple flowers with green leaves, set against an ombre background transitioning from blue to yellow. The word 'THANKS' is elegantly displayed at the bottom in a stylish font.

I hope this card inspires you to combine ink blending, embossing, and layered die cuts on your next project. Those simple additions can make such a big impact and give your cards a polished, finished look.

Thanks so much for stopping by today, and enjoy the rest of the blog hop!

Mindy, your card is spectacular !! You spared no attention to detail and it all paid off beautifully. The soft blended background with the addition of texture via a great embossing folder only to then to bring it all home with the addition of some white pigment ink over the texture, the end result was soft and beautiful. That gorgeous blended background allowed your beautiful flowers to pop off of the card, your blending on the flowers was again top notch. I knew the new Thanks die looked large but I didn’t realize how large it is until I saw your card, WOW that is a statement piece on a card and it worked wonderfully with the two layered arched dies. Every step you took worked seamlessly with the next. BEAUTIFUL card !!!
