Hi friends! It’s Mindy Eggen and welcome back to my blog! Today I’m excited to be joining Pinkfresh Studio for a fun blog hop celebrating the Quiet Moments release. There are so many beautiful products in this collection, and my project today features the Peaceful Pause Stamp, Stencil, and Die set.
This set creates such a relaxing outdoor scene with a cozy hammock nestled between two trees. Whether you prefer bright daytime skies or peaceful evenings, it’s easy to customize the mood with your ink choices. I was in the mood for a calm nighttime scene, so that’s the direction I took with today’s card.
I started by stamping the image onto white cardstock using a light grey ink. Stamping in a lighter color gives me a guide for ink blending without having dark lines showing through before I’m finished coloring.
Next, I placed the cardstock onto a sticky mat and used the coordinating layering stencils along with a variety of Pinkfresh Studio inks to bring the scene to life. I switched between small and large blending brushes depending on the area I was coloring, making it easy to blend larger sections while still getting into the smaller details.
One of my favorite things about this set is how much is included in a single stamped image. Along with the hammock and trees, you also get several scene-building accessories including a small table with a drink and book, a campfire, and a picnic basket. The tree even has string lights hanging overhead, adding the perfect cozy touch.
After all of the ink blending was complete, I placed the panel back into my stamping tool and restamped the image using black ink. This brings back all of the beautiful line details that can soften slightly during the stenciling process and really makes everything pop.
I then used the coordinating die to cut out all of the images. Another feature I really appreciate is that everything stamps together and cuts out together, making the process quick and easy while still giving you lots of individual elements to arrange on your card.
For the background, I wanted the scene to feel like a quiet evening under the stars. I ink blended several deep blue shades across an A2 card panel to create a rich nighttime sky.
To finish it off, I splattered white speckles over the background for a simple starry sky effect. It’s one of those small details that adds so much atmosphere without taking much time.
Once the background was dry, I arranged all of the die-cut images and adhered most of them with foam tape. The added dimension helps separate the pieces from the background and gives the finished scene a little extra depth.
To complete the design, I chose a sentiment from the Retro Camp Days stamp set. This set has such a wonderful collection of unique greetings that pair perfectly with outdoor-themed cards, and I thought this one fit the peaceful vibe of today’s project perfectly.
I love how this card came together. The rich blue sky, glowing string lights, and cozy hammock create such a relaxing scene that makes me want to curl up with a good book and enjoy a quiet evening outdoors.
