Hi everyone! Welcome to the Altenew July 2026 Blog Hop! We’re celebrating with lots of inspiration from the design team and, of course, a huge giveaway that you won’t want to miss.

Today I’m sharing a holiday card featuring the gorgeous Winterberry Poinsettias. I know this product is unfortunately sold out everywhere right now, but if it’s on your wish list, be sure to click the “Notify Me” button on the Altenew website so you’ll know as soon as it’s back in stock. And if you were lucky enough to grab one before it sold out, I hope today’s project gives you plenty of inspiration!
The Winterberry Poinsettias is a stencil and embossing folder combo, but for today’s card I decided to use just the layering stencils. While the embossing folder adds incredible texture and dimension, I sometimes love the clean, crisp look you get from the stencils alone. It creates a beautiful design that’s elegant without being overly complicated.

For my color palette, I stayed with classic Christmas colors. Most of the poinsettia petals were ink blended using the Red Sunset Fresh Dye Ink Collection, creating rich layers of deep reds.
The berries were blended with darker shades from the Tea Party Fresh Dye Ink Collection, while the branches were colored using the Coffee Break Fresh Dye Ink Collection.
Layering the inks really brings each element to life while keeping the overall design soft and blended.

One of my favorite things about this stencil set is how versatile it is. Once all of the ink blending is finished, you can rotate the panel in any direction to create a completely different look. For my card, I turned the design so the poinsettias cascade from the top of the card, leaving plenty of open space for a bold holiday greeting.
To finish the card, I chose a sentiment from the Holiday Essentials Die Set, which includes a wonderful assortment of bold holiday greetings.
I die cut the sentiment once from Smoky Quartz Glitter Cardstock, then added two more die cuts from white cardstock behind it for dimension. The sentiment was attached to a vellum shadow layer, and I stacked two additional vellum shadow layers underneath to give it a little extra stability while still allowing the beautiful stenciled background to peek through.

This card is fairly simple to create, but I love how much impact it has. While I chose traditional Christmas reds, it’s easy to imagine this design in deep blues, pinks, purples, or really any color combination you love. That’s one of the things that makes this stencil so much fun to use!

Thank you so much for stopping by today, and happy hopping! I hope you found a little inspiration for your next holiday card.
