The Peony & Bells 3D Embossing Folder from the Simon Says Stamp Always Love release is one of those products that immediately caught my eye. The floral details are gorgeous, and I already know I’ll be reaching for it again and again with different techniques.
For today’s card, though, I wanted to keep things clean and simple while still creating an elegant finished look.
I started by embossing a piece of Seafoam cardstock with the Peony & Bells 3D Embossing Folder. The beautiful thing about a detailed embossing folder like this is that it does most of the work for you. Once the panel came out of the folder, all of those raised floral details were already adding so much interest and texture.

To help those details stand out even more, I lightly dragged a white pigment ink pad across the surface of the embossed panel.
Since the ink only catches on the raised areas, it instantly highlights the design without covering up any of the texture. After that, I went back over portions of the panel with a champagne pigment ink pad for a soft touch of shimmer and elegance.
A few white splatters added just a little extra detail without taking away from the clean look of the design. Sometimes those small finishing touches make all the difference.

Once the panel was dry, I trimmed it down to 3¾” x 5″ and adhered it to a Seafoam card base measuring 4¼” x 5½”. I used foam tape for a bit of dimension, which also helps separate the embossed panel from the card base.
For the sentiment, I stamped a greeting from the Keep Palm stamp set using black ink and die cut it with the coordinating die. To give it a little more presence against the detailed background, I stacked the die cut sentiment and adhered it to the card front with liquid glue.

To finish everything off, I scattered a few Clear Quartz sequins around the floral design. They add just the right amount of sparkle while keeping the overall look soft and elegant.
This card is a great reminder that you don’t need lots of supplies or complicated techniques to create something beautiful. The combination of the detailed embossing, soft inked highlights, and a few simple embellishments creates an elegant design that would work for so many occasions.
I hope today’s project inspires you to pull out your embossing folders and experiment with different cardstock and ink combinations. Thanks for stopping by, and I’ll see you again soon with another cardmaking project!
