Now onto my card.
This is another mixed media card. One day I sat down and did a bunch of backgrounds with the Hero Arts Spray using their Luxe White Watercolor Paper. I like to do that and set them off on the side for a rainy day.
Well, that rainy day is today! I picked out one of the backgrounds and sporatically stamped the Friendship Background using Archival ink.
Then added black and white splatters.

THis fun new stencil, Dash and Dots, makes for a great mixed media background. I placed it over my background and applied Slippery When Wet Lunar Paste over the top. I made sure to leave rough edges to it.
While that was drying, I die cut the Whirl Butterflies from Matte Silver cardstock and stamped a sentiment from the Flower Power bundle which also has a coordinating die for the sentiments. Gotta love that !

Keeping with the rules of three on my card front, I arranged the butterflies and sentiment over the stenciled area.
Pretty fun how this all came out.
Make sure you have those days where you just sit and create backgrounds. You never know when they’ll come in handy.

I love the mixed media background for your card. Great layering gives it so much interest.
This card is so pretty, love the mixed media look!
Beautiful card! I love the mixed media technique.
I love the mm technique, the colours you used
The texty background is a nice counterpoint to the Whirl Butterflies. I had to have that die set as I love all of the Simon Says Whirl designs.
Goodness! What an awesome card! Those butterflies are fantastic. TFS 🙂
Love this card! Perfect with these butterflies! Didn’t order those, but think I need them now.
A very pretty card, Mindy! Love the background you created and the whirl butterflies are beautiful.
Pretty card! Love the background!
Loved that bkgnd used. Makes it look almost like the pretty butterflies are on a fence or trellis. TFS
Oh that background, beautiful. This card screams summer to me with those butterflies. Love this.
This is such a great card. So bright and summery!
Beautifully modern!
At first I was not much on these whorled items but I am finding myself more and more taken with them! Love your vibrant take on them!

Love your delightful card!! The butterflies are amazing!!
I love the mixed media look you achieved on this card. I’ve recently started incorporating splatter on my cards and I really like seeing it used. The layout of this card is wonderful and reminded me that the “rule of threes” applies to sentiments and other focal points. Thanks for the inspiration!
Looks like a really fun card to create! I was on the fence about those butterflies but I think you have convinced me to grab them!
love those butterflies
This card is absolutely amazing, love those silver butterflies too!
I love the mixed media look of this card!
Beautiful… love the mixed media
Such a pretty card! I love all the details! Thanks for sharing!
Love your sprayed background; you are smart to make those rainy day backgrounds. The butterflies die is a favorite of mine and they look great cut from a silver matte card. Great card!
Lots of great layers and textures. Thanks for sharing.
Gorgeous card! I love seeing pastes on cards or scrapbook pages as it adds so much dimension.
In love with the layers and the flawless ink blending
Very pretty! I like the bold background colors.
