If you caught my recent video on grounding shapes, you already know how a simple rectangle or oval can completely change the way a card looks. But what if you want that same polished, finished feeling without adding a hard edge? That is exactly what soft grounding is all about.

Soft grounding uses subtle techniques — like ink blending, splatter, and small embellishments — to visually anchor your focal point and give your card a sense of completion. The result is a card that feels intentional and layered, even when the process is actually pretty simple. I love this approach because it works with so many different styles, from clean and simple to mixed media.
In this live session, I walk you through several ways to add soft grounding to your cards using supplies you probably already have.

I will have all of the supplies I used linked in the video description and a visual supply list at the end of this blog, so you can follow along or come back to reference them later. I hope this gives you some new ideas to try on your next card!

This card is also a part of an Instagram hop happening now celebrating the latest release from Pinkfresh Studio. Check out my Instagram Page ➡️ HERE ⬅️ to check that out and enter in the giveaways.
