Hey friends! Today I wanted to share a quick tip about what you should do first before you stamp. Seasoned crafters may already know this and have a different method but if you are new to card making, it’s a good practice to get into.

The image I’m coloring today is the Simon Says Stamp Forever Yours. I wanted to make a Valentine’s Day card for my mom (shhh!) and I thought she would love this floral image.

I’m stamping it in Intense Black Ink and coloring with my OLO Markers, which I also talk about more in the video. You can try using the discount code mindy at checkout to receive 10% off your purchase from OLO but I’m honestly not sure if it’s still active.

For the background, I’m using the Dots On Dots stencil and Lost Shadow Distress Oxide Ink with a blending brush. This just adds subtle interest to the background so my flower can be center stage.

I would rather have a more heartfelt message instead of Valentine’s them and I found this perfect sentiment on the XL Love Greetings stamp set. I love that there are coordinating dies for these.
