Hey friends! There is a brand new release from Simon Says Stamp! Introducing Cozy Hugs!

I have a card project and video to share with you today featuring the Glistening Snowflakes stamp set and shimmer powders.

You can catch the video down below or HERE on my Youtube channel.
Now this card is actual a recreation of one I had done before I decided to film it so it’s slightly different but the same technique.

I heat embossed the snowflakes by first stamping in white pigment ink onto Distress watercolor cardstock. Then sprinkled on white embossing powder and heat setting with my heat tool.
I attach my panel to a board, spray it with a Distress Sprayer and then sprinkle on Shimmer Powder in Cherry Bomb and Blue Blitz. I may need to mist my paper more to get the shimmer powder to move or help it along with a paint brush.

After the panel is dry, I’ll use the coordinating die to cut it out.
I’m matching my ink blending to the colors in my snowflakes. For this panel, I went more light handed with my blending using Guava and Amethyst ink.

I stamped a sentiment from the Christmas Blessings stamp set and flicked on some White Glimmer Metallic Ink and Liquid Stardust.

Now this is the original card I had created and you can see a drastic difference in colors. The shimmer powders were more vibrant on this one which I why I went a little more heavy handed with my blending.
On this card I had used Guava, Amethyst and Galaxy inks.

Each card is finished off with Iridescent Clear Drops from Pinkfresh Studio.

Here is another card I had created using another image from the stamp set.

I can never pass up a beautiful snowflake stamp!
Mindy, your cards are absolutely gorgeous! I love the first card using the nuvo shimmer powders – stunning!!
Hi, Mindy – I have other shimmer powders that I could use to try this technique. Your work is, as always, exquisite!
