My Monthly Hero Countdown to Creativity Day 1

Hold on to your seats friends – this kit is FLAMAZING!!!

Welcome to Day 1 of the My Monthly Hero Countdown to Creativity. We are counting down to the July 2022 My Monthly Hero Kit which, I have to say, is really awesome. I mean, this flock of flamingos …? Makes me want to find a tropical island.

There are so many different backgrounds you could pair with this flock. It was hard to settle on one and of course I went with ink blending.

First, my flamingos are stamped in Cotton Candy, Azalea, Cherry, Dandelion and Intense Black.

I masked off the top of my card to ink blend some water using Paradise and Aquatic ink using a blending brush.

For the top half of my card, I ink blended Peony, Cotton Candy and Azalea.

I stamped the sentiment in Intense Black ink and splattered the sky with Gold Glimmer Metallic ink.

For my flamingos, I used my paper trimmer to cut a slit into the cardstock. This way it looks like my flamingos are really standing in the water.

Be sure to head to the Hero Arts blog for more inspiration and enter in the giveaway.

Due to the holiday on Monday, the release will go live on Tuesday, July 5.

The slit in the water is a great idea. I’d like to see some vellum over their feet maybe make it like seeing their feet in translucent water. Great card! Wonderful flamingos! Thanks for sharing.
