Cards Distress Spray Stains My Favorite Things Stencils

Stencil Stamping : 2-for-1 Backgrounds

Hey friends! I’m up on the MFT Youtube channel with an exclusive video showing you a fun technique called Stencil Stamping. Well… it may be called many things but stencil stamping is what I’m going with.

I walk through the process in the video so down below I will go over the main supplies used.

I’ll be using the Basket Weave stencil from MFT. I thought it would work well with this technique because of all of the lines in the design.

To hold up to the amount of liquid I will be spraying I’m going to use Tim Holtz Watercolor paper.

I place the paper on my work surface, lay the stencil on top and then spray Picked Raspberry, Squeezed Lemonade, Peacock Feathers and Wilted Violet Distress Spray Stains.

I’ll come in with my second piece of watercolor paper, place that over the top and press that into the stencil. This is going to “stamp” that stencil into the cardstock.

After I pull up the stencil, I’m left with another background which is what you see above.

This card is what I got when I “stamped” my stencil onto the paper.

I love the artsy and splattered look.

The sentiments on the Rainbow Critters stamp set coordinate well with the colorful backgrounds.

Hope you enjoyed today’s card projects and technique! Be sure to check out the video HERE.
