Welcome everyone! I have an exclusive video over on the MFT Youtube channel featuring a one layer card with the Mermazing stamp set. It’s an oldie but goodie and I was in the mood to color up a mermaid.

You can check out the video down below or HERE on the MFT Youtube channel.
I don’t normally do one layer cards or fussy cutting because….well…. it’s fussy lol. But sometimes there is an image that is too cute to pass up and I discovered that I didn’t have the die for it. So fussy cutting it is!
I stamped the image on white 80 lb cardstock and also on a piece of masking paper. Then fussy cut and added over my stamped image to mask it off so I could create a background.
I ink blended Salvaged Patina, Mermaid Lagoon and Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide for my masked off background.

The image is colored with copic markers
- Hair – RV69, RV29, RV25, RV13, RV10
- Skin – E04, E11, E01
- Tail – G29, G17, YG06, YG00
- Star – Y38, Y13
After coloring in my image, I stamped the school of fish onto the background using Mermaid Lagoon and Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide.
The sentiment which is also off of the Mermazing stamp set is stamped in Versafine Ink.

Love this card. I have a long list for MFT (including those darned butterflies whose stamps and dies never seem to be available at the same time – I like to order sets together or else I forget what I have) and I will be adding this mermaid set to it. Your card is terrific – the ink blending gorgeous.
This reminds me of my former student, Amanda. She was hired by Disney when she was in college to play Ariel around the FL park. She is a natural redhead and surely her long red hair was a part of her casting! She still works for Disney now, though is no longer (in her early 30s trolling around the park in a mermaid costume! Please keep Amanda in your prayers – she’s on bedrest during pregnancy #2 (due in Aug.). Her mother is a colleague and dear friend. We are all praying for Amanda.
Thx for a great video – and the Copic combo tips – and have a super day!
