Welcome everyone! Today I have a clean and simple card featuring the Pretty Poinsettias stamp set from Honey Bee Stamps.

My card is also in my video today and in the video I am talking about what I do when I feel like I’m in a creative funk. I started this card with 3 different ideas, none were working out for me. I’m hoping my tips help you if you ever feel like this. You can view the video down below or HERE on Youtube.

In my card design, I knew I wanted to use the bow from Pretty Poinsettia stamp set. This is a large 6″ x 8″ stamp set with a lot of images that work together or you can just use individually. This is one of the many perks of buying large stamp sets, you have more options to work with.

In my struggles, I realized I was overthinking my card. I went back through my Instagram feed on card designs and colors I had used in the past. I looked at what was appealing to me, not how many likes something had but what did I love. I settled on this simple design incorporating a handful of 1/4″ strips of card stock.

I used Rainforest, Mermaid, Chili Pepper and Ballet Slipper for a non-traditional color palette. I added these stripes to an A2 size card front using a tape runner.

I also added a card panel to the front that I had trimmed down to 2 1/2″ x 4″ using foam tape to add dimension.

There is a lot of beautiful white space on the card and decided I wanted the sentiment to pop a little more. I heat embossed a sentiment from the Pretty Poinsettia stamp set in gold onto black card stock. One of the many perks of using Honey Bee Stamps sets is they have coordinating dies for their sentiments. I love the beveled and clean edge this provides.
