Welcome everyone! It’s Mindy here with you today to tickle your creativity with sketches. Do you use sketches when creating cards? Honestly, I rarely do but after making these cards for you today, I don’t know why I don’t do it more often.

My cards today were inspired by sketches found on page 31 of the Summer 2020 Issue of Scrapbook & Cards Today Magazine. One of those is actually a sketch for a scrapbook page that I tweaked to fit a card. That’s the beauty of sketches. You can adjust them any way you need to. They are a diving board to jump start the creativity.
Both of my cards are using the NEW Fall/Winter Release from Lawn Fawn as they had the perfect images and colors for today. Fall is my favorite season with the cool weather and beautiful colors and it’s a perfect time to get cracking on Thank You or Grateful cards.

The first sketch is very clean and simple featuring just a couple images from the Let’s Go Nuts stamp set and a sentiment from Thanks Thanks Thanks. I thought the little squirrel throwing up leaves added a nice playful touch.
I also die cut the pattern paper from Into The Woods using the Large Stitched Rectangle just to add some subtle detail.

This next card was actually a sketch for a scrapbook layout but the second I saw the image, I thought of this adorable little squirrel. I pulled in a branch from the stamp set A Bug’s Deal so my squirrel had somewhere to sleep.
To pull in the Fall theme and a pop of color, I added a few leaves also from the stamp set A Bug’s Deal.

I hope you enjoyed today’s inspiration! I highly recommend giving sketches a try if you haven’t already. They take a lot of the guess work out of designing.
