My Monthly Hero March 2020 Kit | Creating Backgrounds with Karin Brush Markers Pro

Welcome everyone! I was so excited to have received my kit from Hero Arts just before they had to shut down shipping because of the Shelter-In-Place that was put into effect.

I am a huge fan of the Heroscapes and couldn’t wait to play with the March My Monthly Hero Kit. For today’s cards, I’m going to be creating a couple backgrounds using my Karin Brush Markers Pro I had some extra images stamped out so I also made one quick, clean and simple card.

I have a video that you can view down below or HERE on my Youtube channel.

I’ve been mainly using my Karin Markers for watercoloring but they make amazing backgrounds as well. For the night time sky I used Plum 197, Egyptian Blue 305, Turquoise 654 and Cool Aqua 204.

For the pink/peach-ish background I used Rose Pink 168, Skin 2 – 201, and Skin 1 – 200. I colored right onto Fabriano Artistico watercolor paper, spritzed with water and then smoothed out the colors with a wet paintbrush.

I added interest to my pink background by heat embossing the Waves and Clouds background stamp with Sparkle Embossing Powder.

I also added a fun sentiment from the Zen Messages stamp set.

Colors for the tree are Creamsicle Hero Arts Reactive Ink and Fruit Punch Reactive Inks.

The grass is stamped using the same colors throughout both cards. I used Lime Green and Fresh Lawn. I was able to create a few sets of these images by setting the layering up in my Black Misti.

I added stars to my night sky by flicking on Gold and White Glimmer Metallic Inks.

I like to change up colors so this tree is stamped in Pool Party and Blue Raspberry Reactive Inks which I thought looked pretty cool again the background.

This sentiment is also from the Zen Messages stamp set. I stamped it in clear ink and heat embossed with White Embossing Powder.

Both of my background I trimmed down with the Rectangle Infinity Die and added to a card front using Foam Tape.

My last set of trees are stamped with Cotton Candy and Rose Madder inks.

Since I stamped extra sets, I had a couple trees left over. I decided to just go clean and simple.

On Dove White cardstock, I stamped a sentiment from the stamp set in the March Kit.

I then attached the trees using liquid glue.

Even though Hero Arts is not shipping again until April 7, it’s great to still purchase and support them if we can.

If you already have this kit, I hope this brings you inspiration. If you don’t have this kit, maybe you have some of the Heroscapes. Or you can create backgrounds like this for any card! Either way, I hope you enjoyed the video and the cards and they inspire you to play!
