Welcome everyone! I’ve been experimenting with watercoloring but this time I’m playing with the Glimmer Metallic Inks from Hero Arts.
I’m also featuring a new die from Hero Arts called Trifold Edge Winter Pine. While this was intended to make a trifold card, I die cut my pieces from white cardstock and just layered them on top of each other.

For the real fun part…. my background. I started with a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ piece of black water color cardstock that you can find HERE (clickable link). Using a Royal & Langnickel Flat Brush I applied Blue Glimmer Metallic Ink to my background. I also added some Purple Glimmer Metallic Ink over the very top.
I really just experimented with these two colors to create a gorgeous background. It’s so hard to see in pictures but it has such a beautiful pearlescent shine to it.

Once the background was dry, I added snow. I did this by mixing the White Glimmer Metallic Ink with a drop or two of water. I added some of this mixture to an old tooth brush I have in my stash that I use just for crafting purposes (obviously). I then flicked this mixture off of an acrylic block with the tooth brush to give me really fine speckles.

For the snowdrifts, I added just a little bit of B0000 & B000 copic markers. I started at the top of the snowbank and flicked down just a tad. I also added the sentiment from the My Monthly Hero November kit.
One last finishing touch after attaching everything down with a tape runner, was to add bits of Glitter Lacquer Pen that is in the November Kit as well.
Hope you enjoyed my little experiment!
