DIY Ink Pad with Reinkers

Welcome back everyone! I’ve been so busy with work this week I haven’t crafted all week! I’m going through withdraws. I finally got some time in this morning and the first thing I did was try out this technique that Jennifer McGuire shared creating DIY Ink Pads with reinkers. Of course the minute I saw the video I ordered some reinkers in my favorite colors from Gina K Designs. You can check out Jennifer’s video HERE.

I’m using the butterfly from the Elegant Aster card kit. I applied Bubblegum Pink, Sweet Mango, Wild Dandelion, Key Lime, Ocean Mist and Wild Lilac reinker onto a baby wipe and applied to my stamp.

Then stamped my inked image onto white card stock. I created this beautiful rainbow butterfly. As you can see I did this quite a few times and every now and then shifted the baby wipe on my stamp image to try and tone back that Wild Dandelion which seemed to take over my image.

I die cut the images out with the coordinating die and attached them to a piece of Sea Glass card stock using the Gina K Connect Glue. I trimmed down any pieces that were over hanging and attached my panel to an A2 size white card base.

My sentiment which comes from the Hugs stamp set, is heat embossed in white onto Black Onyx card stock. Then added to a white piece and trimmed down to mimic a label. I thought this stood out nicely from the colorful background. I finished off the card by adding a few Sparkling Confetti around my sentiment.

What an absolutely fun technique! Be sure to visit Jennifer’s video for more details on to create your own DIY ink pad.
