Me and My Dragons – Mama Elephant

Dragons …. Distress Oxide background … be still my heart! I’m combining two of my favorite things!
I’ve honestly had this set for a while and it was begging to be colored up. If you me you know I have a lover for dragons. I showed this to my husband and HE ever adores it ! lol
For creating my background, I ink blended Picked Raspberry, Wilted Violet and Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide. I also added a touch of Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink and finished off the edges with a smidge of Black Soot Distress Oxide ink. I spritzed with water and also added some speckles with white paint. I couldn’t stop myself and took it outside and sprayed with a glitter spray. I think it turned out dreamy!
For the moon, I die cut a circle from Fog cardstock then added the moon spots with a C2 copic marker. I also sprayed this with glitter spray because I just love the sparkle even though it’s hard to capture on camera.
The mountains are die cut from Storm Cloud cardstock using the Kingdom Trio die from Mama Elephant. I added just a light touch of white pigment ink with a sponge dauber. I was hoping it gave the illusion the glow from the moon reflecting off the mountains.
My dragon is from the Me & My Dragon stamp set from Mama Elephant. I stamped it in copic friendly ink onto Neenah White cardstock and colored with copic markers. There is a coordinating die for this that I unfortunately don’t have so I fussy cut. I heat embossed this amazing sentiment from the Dragon Wishes stamp set right onto my mountains.
My moon is adhered straight down onto the background but the mountains and dragon are added with foam tape for dimension. I think this really helped create the scene that my moon was in the background. I really enjoyed this card and stamp set and can’t wait to play some more with it!
