Welcome everyone! Today’s card is going to be creating a Reveal Wheel card with a beautiful sunset. Lots of pictures and Video included! Keep reading for some EXCITING NEWS!!
Lawn Fawn has some amazing new products out right now! Not only are they fun to make but they are fun to give to people. I made a few of these styles of cards for teachers and they loved them! Typically, when creating an interactive card, I will create a mock up first. So using scrap paper or even just white paper to get the feel of the design and where I should start.
For this card, I ‘m going to start with ink blending. I’m going to use Bristol Smooth cardstock for my front panel because it blends the distress inks and oxide inks nicely. Starting at the top, I’ll ink blend Fired Brick, Candied Apple, Spiced Marmalade and Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide ink. This panel I will diecut using the Reveal Wheel die. I will also cut out my Reveal Wheel back piece and wheel from just white cradstock.
While my inks were out, I will take another piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock and ink blend Cracked Pistachio and Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide ink and diecut using the Stitched Waves die.
From here, I’m going to get all of my diecutting out of the way so I’ll cut a circle from Sunflower cardstock with the Stitched Circle Die. This will create my sun. I will also diecut a piece of Paper Bag cardstock with the Stitched Hillside Die. This will create my sand for my front panel. I can go ahead and trim down my sand and waves to fit my front panel and figure out how I want them arranged on the card.
Before I add any adhesive, I’m going to stamp the bird silhouettes from the Life Is Good stamp set in embossing ink and heat emboss in black embossing powder. I will do the same for the sentiment above my Reveal Wheel window.
I’m going to add my sentiments to my wheel using the Reveal Wheel sentiments stamp set. At this point, I can go ahead and assemble my Reveal Wheel. All that’s left to do are my images.
I’m going to using the palm trees from the Life Is Good stamp set. I will stamp two trees onto Neenah White cardstock 80 lb with Lawn Fawn Black ink which is copic friendly. Once I finished some simple copic coloring, I can go ahead and diecut them from the coordinating die set. Now I can add my palm tress to my beach scene. Spin the wheel and you can see all these amazing sentiments!
I hope you give the Reveal Wheel a try! They are really a blast to create and can’t wait to do more!
