Alcohol Inks & Eskimo Kisses – Kraftin Kimmie Stamps

Hello and welcome ! I’m jumping on the bandwagon with the alcohol inks!! You know me – I love to make backgrounds for my colored images so this fits right in! It’s a lot of fun and I can’t wait to build up my collection of alcohol inks.

Today is also time for another challenge with Kraftin Kimmie Stamps and the theme is super easy – WINTER!! Honestly, I’m ready for Spring haha but when you live in Wisconsin you never know when that will come. I remember getting snow in May!!

Anywho onto my project.

I started out by stamping my image from Eskimo Kisses onto Neenah white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloring with my copic markers. My supply list will be down below. Once colored, I cut out my image with my Scan n Cut machine because I’m not big into fussy cutting.

For my background, I’m using some Ranger Alcohol Inks and Yupo paper. Not gonna lie, I have no clue what colors I used because I was just randomly grabbing bottles and playing . Sorry!! Funny story with this is when I was playing, I went to open my bottle of Blending Solution and I couldn’t open the cap! I had tightened it really good in case my son got into my stuff and apparently I REALLY tightened it and had to get the hubby to open it. So this background is just inks – no blending solution.

With the extra ink build up, instead of wiping it with a cloth or having that sticky part on my card I tried covering it with some Tonic Nuvo Silver Gilding Flakes. I just added some here and there where the sticky parts were, pushed down and then wiped off the excess.

Once this was completely dried, I cut it out with the Blueprint 29 panel die. I also cut a snow hill using the Wintertime border and glitter cardstock. I attached these panels to my side folding card that measures 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2 and added my cut out image with some foam squares. My sentiment is also from the Eskimo Kisses stamp set that I stamped on white cardstock and cut out with my banner die.

I am in love with alcohol inks now and I love how this background worked perfectly for my little Eskimo and polar bear!
