Chunky Monkey Sugar Pea Designs

Happy Hello! ….. Again!!! I have two posts today — lucky for you! Today I’m sharing a card I made using supplies from 7 Kids Your Crafting Supply Store. This card was inspired by one of Jennifer McGuire’s videos creating a window with tulle. I have lots of pictures to try and really show you the result!

I started out grabbing the Chunky Monkey set from Sugar Pea Designs and the coordinating dies which can both be purchased at 7 Kids Your Crafting Supply Store. I colored up the monkey and branch and using the dies – cut them out. I also cut another set of the just the branch and monkey on plain white cardstock. I will be using this when I’m finishing my card to apply behind the colored pieces.

I cut my card base to 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ and my kraft cardstock to 4″ x 5 1/4″. I then grabbed my heart die from Jaded Blossom and lined it up where I wanted it to go. Using some painters tape I gently taped the die in place and also added a couple small pieces to hold the kraft cardstock down to the white. This way everything will line up. I ran this through my Big Shot and came out with a perfect heart in the middle of my card.

Next, I cut two pieces of tulle that would fit my card front. I applied double sided adhesive to both the white cardstock and the kraft. Technically you could use just one piece of tulle .. but I happen to cut two. I removed the backing on the adhesive and applied the tulle to both cardstocks. The tulle is sandwiched between the two pieces. This could also be used as a shaker card which I will also do down the road!

I adhered my branch and monkey to the front and because the adhesive would show through the back of the tulle… this is where the blank die set comes in handy. I attached those to the back. This way it covers the adhesive and its nice and eye appealing in the back of the colored pieces.

I finished off my card with my sentiment also from Chunky Monkey and stamped that on my flag die banner on white cardstock. Added some Nuvo Crystal Drops and poof!! My card is complete!
