Cards Halloween Halloween 2026 Series Spellbinders Stencils

Spellbinders August 2026 Clubs – Stencil of the Month

It’s getting spooky around here with the Spellbinders August 2026 Clubs! Today I’m featuring the Stencil of the Month, which layers together to create a fun Halloween background filled with pumpkins, ghosts, bats, and spooky details around the edges of the card.

If you’re not already a club member, new subscriber registration is now open through August 27. You can sign up for a single club, mix and match your favorites, or, if you love everything, join Club Crate to receive a bonus item. Club members also enjoy early access to new releases, making it a great time to join the Spellbinders community.

One of my favorite things about this stencil set—besides the fact that it’s all about Halloween—is that it includes a layer dedicated to coloring the background. This fills in the center of the design and gives the finished card so much depth before adding the pumpkins and ghosts. Each stencil is clearly numbered, making it easy to build the design one layer at a time.

I began by ink blending shades of gray over the background layer to create a soft, spooky backdrop.

Next, I brought the pumpkins to life using Sweet Mango and Tomato Soup inks, blending the colors together for added dimension.

The pumpkin stems were ink blended with Key Lime and Kelly Green, while Black Onyx ink added the pumpkin faces and bats. Since I started with white cardstock, the ghosts remained crisp white, creating beautiful contrast against the darker ink-blended elements.

To frame the background, I die cut an arch window from Raven cardstock using an Arches Die. Popping the frame up with foam squares adds extra depth and really draws your eye to the colorful Halloween scene underneath.

For the greeting, I used the Clear Stamp & Die of the Month. I stamped the sentiment onto Raven cardstock with white pigment ink, heat embossed it with white embossing powder, and then die cut it with the coordinating die. The finished sentiment was also adhered with foam squares for another layer of dimension.

I love how the black frame and sentiment allow the colorful pumpkins and bright white ghosts to take center stage while giving the card a bold Halloween look.

I hope this project inspires you to create with the Spellbinders August Clubs! I’ll have more Halloween inspiration featuring this month’s clubs coming soon, so be sure to stop back and see what’s next.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and happy crafting!
