Create a Stunning Bright Dragonfly Card

Today I’m excited to share a magical card featuring the beautiful Bright Dragonfly die from Simon Says Stamp. This design is full of shimmer and soft, dreamy color—perfect for sending a little sparkle to someone’s day!

I began by creating the background using the A2 Rectangle Masking Stencils. I placed a piece of Hammermill cardstock cut to 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ onto my Tacky Mat, then laid the stencil over top to hold everything securely in place.

Next, I ink blended the masked area using Morning and Galaxy ink with a blending brush to create a soft, ethereal background. Before removing the stencil, I lightly splattered Antique Linen Distress Spritz across the panel for a subtle shimmer effect.

To create the dragonfly, I die cut the shape from white cardstock and ink blended the body using Morning ink. I stacked a few die cuts for added dimension and gave it a generous spritz of Antique Linen Distress Spritz.

For the wings, I used shimmer vellum, added a touch of ink, and lightly misted them as well.

I attached the dragonfly using foam squares placed behind the body to let the wings float freely and add depth.

To finish, I added a sentiment from the EZ Strips Everyday Sentiments, trimmed it with the coordinating die, and popped it up on the front panel.

This card has so many delicate layers and soft shimmer—just the right touch of magic!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
