My card today features the Watermelons stamp set. My mom loves watermelon-everything so I tend to gravitate towards anything with watermelons in cardmaking.
I colored in all the images with my OLO markers. The colors used are
- RV0.2
- RV0.4
- RV0.6
- G1.4
- G1.7
- G1.8
Then used the coordinating die to cut them out with my compact cutter.
For the background I used the new Starburst stencil. I started with a piece of Hammermill cardstock and ink blended on Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed and Wild Honey distress inks using a blending brush.
Then I turned the stencil to the right and stenciled it again to get this nice full burst on my background.
I flicked the background with white paint and a bit of ink splatters for added interest.
As I was arranging my images, I decided I needed to add them to something so I pulled in the basket from the Fresh Berries stamp set that I had previously colored up.
I stamped the small sentiment in Versafine Ink onto the card front, added my larger sentiment and then the images are added with foam squares.
The border around my image comes from the Birthday Cake Die. I love that stitched border that I can pop up.
My finished touch is adding stickles to the watermelon for sparkle and a few of the new Lime Shimmer Confetti.
