Stop Hoarding Your Cardstock!

Welcome friends! I’m sharing inspiration using the Lovely Layers Peony set from Honey Bee Stamps. Instead of coloring up the dies with inks, I’m going to use colored cardstock. Do you hoard colored cardstock like me? This is a great time to dig it out!

I have a video that you can view down below or HERE on my Youtube channel.

I’m a sucker for colored cardstock. The problem is I don’t seem to use it enough. I thought I would dig through my stash and use it to create dimension in color with my peony set.

The cardstock I’m using today is from The Stamp Market. I was able to find enough shades of Pink to layer up my flower. I keep all of my cardstock on swatch rings.

For the background, I sprayed my dark green cardstock with a shimmer spray. I will admit, it didn’t turn out quite like I had thought it would. I just wanted some sparkle but it kind of changed color on the cardstock.

I also added splatters of white to the background. Again…. it didn’t quite look like I thought it would lol. The white now has a blue tint to it. But, I’m rolling with it.

The sentiments come from the Bitty Buzzword stamp and die set. I stamped the words in Intense Black ink and die cut the Hugs from Matte Silver.

I still love how everything came out but if I were to do this again, I would not have sprayed the background. Instead I would have softly ink blended the edges with a black ink to add drama to the card.

Regardless, I’m happy with the card and these gorgeous layering peonies. I need to dig my color cardstock out more often.
