VIDEO: Stamping With Distress Oxides

Hi friends! I have a fun technique to share today using my Distress Oxide inks. Did you know you can STAMP with your oxides? I typically use my oxide inks for ink blending and smooshing techniques but they are great for stamping tool!

I have a video tutorial that you can view down below or HERE on my Youtube channel.

I explain my process in the VIDEO so below I will briefly talk about my cards.

I will admit, when I started blending my background, I wasn’t completely happy with it. I stuck with it and when everything was finished I completely fell in love with it.

I blended Tattered Rose, Scattered Straw, Salvaged Patina and Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxides.

I created a silhouette scene with the Bold Botanicals stamp set stamped in Villainous Potion and Black Soot.

I trying to tap into more of my mixed media side (or trying to find it lol) by adding lots of splatters to my background for interest. I used Dylusions Crushed Grape Shimmer Spray, White Gouache and Liquid Stardust. Keep in mind, I stamped with Distress Oxides which react with water so any splatters that hit that part of the card are going to react.

This panel is trimmed out with the Sweet Stacks Rectangle die which was great because I could pick and choose which area of the card I wanted to cut out.

I finished off the card with a sentiment cut from Matte Silver cardstock using the Hugs from the Slimline Sentiments Eyelet set and Frozen Rhinestones.

I really love how this card came out and I hope you give this technique a try!
