Cards Christmas Hero Arts

Winter Woods Heroscape

Welcome everyone! Today I’m sharing a couple cards I created using the new Winter Woods Heroscape. I am head-over-heels in love with the Heroscapes and this one is no different!

What is really cool about this stamp set is it can be used all year round and for any occasion. It has some additional images and sentiments to easily create Christmas cards, but change out the sentiment and this could quickly transform to a birthday card.

Now both of my cards are quite similar, I just switched up the colors.

My first card is stamping the background in Soft Olive, Pine and Moss ink pads.

There is a little dimension to this card as I did die cut each section out using the coordinating die and layered on top of one another.

For the snow, I first stamped it in Soft Sky ink using my Misti tool. Leaving the image and paper in place, I stamped it again but this time in Embossing Ink.

I sprinkled on Sparkle embossing and heat set to give some sparkly snow to my card. I’m using Palm card stock to really draw in the green of the trees.

This next card features the trees in blue which I think came out amazing! I used Soft Sky, Stone Wash and Navy inks from Hero Arts.

This time, I added my layers to a card base created from Cranberry card stock. I love the look of the red and blue together.

Keep in mind what a great card this would make for a guy just by switching out the sentiment.

I hope you enjoyed today’s inspiration! Be sure to check out the Winter Woods Heroscape. They create such beautiful scenes and double the fun by combining this scene with a previously released Heroscape!

Hi, Mindy – I like these both very much and agree w/ you about the blue. If you had asked me whether I would like the green or blue trees better sight unseen, I would have said “green” b/c I am sort of a traditionalist…. but I love the way the blue card came out. I also love a nice vibrant (not tomato-y) red and a true blue go together. Sometimes my students in French class point out that I am dressed like the French flag LOL b/c I wear a white shirt and red sweater and navy pants or reverse the pants/sweater colors but still look like a “tricolor” or French flag. Anyhoo… Thanks for the inspo… I already ordered this set but could not resist seeing what you did w/ it when I got your email teaser.
    Peace –
