Welcome back! Today I’m showcasing this beautiful Cherry Blossoms stamp set from Pretty Pink Posh that I colored with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. See end of post for a video and supplies used.
To start my card, I’m using some Canson Watercolor Paper. I heat emboss the flowers and leaves onto the cardstock with white embossing powder. This will “contain” my water so it doesn’t spill to the rest of my card. I find this is the easiest way for me to break into coloring with Zig markers since I plan on watercoloring with them. Canson is a great paper to start with because it’s affordable and will with stand the water.
Next, using a Light Green for the leaves and Violet for the flowers, I add a little color to the centers. Using a fine paint brush, I dip it in water, dab off on a paper towel and pull the color from the center towards the outside of the image. This will have the color be darker in the middle and lighter towards the edges. I’m not worried about perfect blending because I was going for the watercolor effect and wanted it to be a little inconsistent.
Once all the images were colored, I fussy them out but there is a coordinating die set that I wish I would have purchased.
I’m using Fog cardstock for my base which is an A2 size. I also have a piece of Neenah white cardstock measuring 4″ x 5 1/4″ that I trimmed once side off of with the Scallop Borders 1 die for a beautiful scallop edge. The sentiment is from the Woodland Critters stamp set and stamped on the white panel with black ink. Then I arrange my floral bouquest and adhere to the front panel.
To add some more interest (and sparkle!) I’m adding some Ivory Jewels which I thought complimented the card wonderfully.
I also have a video available that shows you my process. You can view it down below or HERE on my Youtube channel.
