For my project today I really wanted to do some cool technique because I’ve seen others do them and they look like so much fun! What I ended up doing was creating a very simple card and showing you how I use the Misti stamping tool. It’s very simple – I use it to stamp. ha! I know that sounds simple but honestly it’s the best tool ever! I will NOT stamp without it.
A quick flashback. I used to do Close To My Heart. I did it all including workshops, parties, the whole kitten-kaboodle. My biggest problem was …. stamping. If it didn’t stamp right, you had to try and line it up or stamp again. Very frustrating. I actually quit stamping for a while. Then I discovered the Misti. This has allowed me to stamp my images in the exact place I want them and if it doesn’t come out crisp the first time, I ink up and stamp again! It helps me line things up straight so no more crooked sentiments (unless operator error lol) Be sure to check out my video down below and I’ll show you how I use it!
Ok enough babble – on to my card!
I’m starting off with Neenah white cardstock and the Four Point Star stencil from Pink & Main. I lightly ink up my 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ panel with Mermaid Lagoon and Blueprint Sketch distress oxide. I’m leaving a little space for my image in the corner.
Next, I load my panel into my Misti stamping tool and stamp this sweet mouse image into the bottom corner. To get nice, crisp black lines, I ink up my image once more and stamp again. Because I have my paper and stamp in the same place, I’m able to stamp again without worrying about my lines not matching up.
I did go back and line up my stencil to add a little bit more ink and make it closer to the umbrella. Then I colored my image with copic markers. I’ll load this panel back into the Misti, holding it down with the magnet.
The creative corners is another amazing product from My Sweet Petunia. I’m going to take one of them and line up one edge with the bottom of my card. Then I can take my sentiment and butt it right up against the top of the creative corner and my sentiment will be perfectly straight. I can even double check with the pre-etched lines on the door of the Misti. I will also double stamp this sentiment in black ink so it stands out against the background.
To finish off the card, I’m going to add the panel to an A2 sized cardbase and add a few Glossy dots from the Birthday Girl collection.
