Happy New Year! Welcome to 2018!! Last year brought so many new experiences for me and new people – it was an amazing year!! I can’t wait to continue the journey this year and add to it! I have new and exciting things to share with you including my continued work on the design team for C.C. Designs, Kraftin Kimmie Stamps and Pink & Main PLUS some guest spots this year!
Also, you’ll be seeing me post something a little different. I’ll explain. I stumbled upon a project called December Daily. I was totally intrigued by it! All of my crafting originally stemmed from scrapbooking. My style has changed over the years and as I started my own business, Paper Creations by Mindy, I actually lost touch with my own albums. I was creating premade paper piecings for everyone else’s albums… but my own. December Daily was a great kick off for me to get back into the game and document my memories. Here are some pictures from my December Daily album.
I didn’t quite “get it” until about half way through the album. You can’t do wrong by it but you were to capture one memory a day and document on it. I was doing everything lol …. mainly because I just couldn’t focus. I still need to finish this album but you can read more about it on Ali Edward’s blog which is where I got the inspiration from.
Now, as I was trolling her blog – I came across One Little Word. Never heard of it before but loved the idea of it! Focus on one word for the year and make it appear or be a part of your life. To me, this is about ME. All of my books, journaling ect is about my family, nothing is ever about ME. So I jumped on board! I’m really excited to start this journey of self discovery.
I’m also going to be jumping into a hybrid form of Project Life using products from Studio Calico and Ali Edwards. I discovered that I haven’t created an album in 10 years! I want to document these memories before I forget. I love looking back and so does my daughter. I say hybrid because as I’ll be using the form of Project Life and a dab of digital work, I still love embellishments and can incorporate my own paper piecings in the albums. I just won’t be going overboard on them like I had done in the past. That is what always took so long and ended up dreading working on albums.
Here are some pictures of the One Little Word. These are NOT my pictures – they are from Ali Edwards Blog so be sure to head over and check it out. I hope you will follow me on this journey!
This first picture (from Ali Edwards) is exactly what I need to do and why I felt it needed to be shared.

So, to sum it all up, you are going to see quite a variety of things from me this year! I am determined to get started on albums this year. You are going to see cardmaking, journaling, Project Life and One Little Word projects. I’m also hoping to incorporate my colored images into my albums as well since that is a part of me now.
Thank you for sticking with me and hope you’ll stop back soon!
